Kathrine Wassermann and her husband, Joe, who both are blind, frequently borrow materials from Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh's Library for the Blind and Physically Handicapped. The Library provides important community outreach to individuals throughout Western Pennsylvania with visual, physical or reading disabilities. More than 50,000 items, such as books on tape, large-print books and Braille books, are available for borrowing. The Library also features current magazines, with titles ranging from Good Housekeeping to Sports Illustrated. Customers can even catch up on recent movies with described videos, which carry narration that depicts action, characterization and scenery.
