Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh and PNC Advisors invite you to be our guest for a very special Grand Re-opening event with food, tours and entertainment for all ages. Meet Lilly & Mouse and hear their story, explore the library on a scavenger hunt, delve into urban legends with our librarians, enjoy dramatic readings, join our Dance Dance Revolution, have your photo taken with Andrew Carnegie, create your own street art or sing along with storyteller Margaret Hooton.

Children's
Noon- 5 PM Follow Lilly and Mouse as they tell their story throughout the Library or learn more about our Family Place program.
1:15 PM Sing-a-long with storyteller Margaret Hooten
2:30 PM Enjoy a seasonal marionette story with We're Holden Puppets (Lecture Hall) -or- Experience the musical talent of the Seton Center School of Music (New Reading Deck)
2:00- 4:00 PM Make a family picture frame

Teens:
Noon - 5 pm. Movies and Music
Noon - 5 p.m. Create your own street art with a local artist
Noon - 5 p.m. Filmmaking: Discuss, learn, then go on a mini-shoot and produce your own documentary.
12:30 and 3:30 p.m. Urban Legends
1:00 p.m. Dance, Dance Revolution, a wildly entertaining dancing game combining the Big Screen and X-Box.

Adults:
Noon - 5:00 PM Explore wild and scenic Pennsylvania with one of the nation's leading landscape photographers, Steve Mulligan (Second Floor)
12:30 - 5:00 PM Enjoy dramatic readings and storytelling by Members of StorySwap, the Pittsburgh Storytelling Guild (Quiet Reading Room, First Floor)

Also that year, Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh created the first fully organized Children's Department at the Main Library. In 1901, Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh held the First Training Class for Children's Librarians solidifying the library's commitment to services for its youngest customers.
