Writer's LIVE @ CLP - Main : Michael Sims

Thursday, June 21, 2012
6:00 PM
Celebrate the 60th Anniversary of Charlotte's Web with an intimate lecture from Greensburg, PA resident, Michael Sims. Sims appears for Writers LIVE @ CLP-Main with his latest release The Story of Charlotte’s Web, which tells the story behind one of the best-loved books in America. Starting with the childhood influence of his family’s farm in Mount Vernon, NY, where the personalities of the beloved characters Charlotte, Wilbur and Fern were shaped, Sims traces White’s path from a writer for The New Yorker to the places in nature that inspired him to write the beloved American classic. The Los Angeles Review of Books writes, “In this lovingly rendered portrait, Sims details the life of [White’s] careful listening, insatiable curiosity, and empathy toward all living creatures.”
