Secrets of the Rosetta Stone

Tuesday, July 17, 2012
12:15 PM
DVD, 52 Minutes

The 1799 discovery of the Rosetta Stone by a French soldier 35 miles north of Alexandria, Egypt brought about the birth of modern Egyptology. Carved with essentially the same text in Greek, Egyptian hieroglyphics and Egyptian Demotic, the Rosetta Stone has long fascinated scholars while providing the key to modern understanding of ancient hieroglyphics.
