The Balancing Act & Dealing with Difficult People

Wednesday, August 8, 2012
9:30 AM - 12:00 PM

These two seminars, The Balancing Act & Dealing with Difficult People, offer a practical and easy to use guide for those working in the human services field.

The Balancing Act approaches burn-out, stress and motivational loss with a focus on prevention. It is ideal for those who supervise or work with individuals who offer care giving and/or support on a regular basis. The seminar explores the recognition of compassion fatigue, its causes, symptoms and cures.

Dealing with Difficult People teaches an easy-to-apply process that was scientifically developed to defuse anger and related behaviors. This technique has been taught and applied by thousands of people and is a mainstay of prevention in a variety of professions including: human services, law enforcement and educational settings.

The speaker is Kurt Emmerling, M.Ed., NCC, LPC. Mr. Emmerling is a nationally board-certified counselor and is also licensed as a professional mental health counselor in Pennsylvania.
