"American Masters" traces George Balanchine's life from his youth in Russia, through his work for Hollywood and Broadway, to his creation of the New York City Ballet. Balanchine, who transformed dance in the United States, is widely regarded as “the father of American ballet.” Selections from many of his famous performances are featured. Presented by PBS.
