During the early 1950s, Senator Joseph McCarthy and the House Un-American Activities Committee exploited the fears and paranoia created by the threat of Communism. With a desire to report the facts and enlighten the public, Edward R. Murrow and his dedicated staff examined the lies and scaremongering tactics perpetrated by McCarthy during his communist 'witch-hunts.' A very public feud developed, but the CBS crew carried on and helped to bring down one of the most controversial senators in American history. Starring David Strathairn and George Clooney. (2005)
