Directions to CLP-South Side

Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh - South Side is located approximately 1.4 miles south of Downtown Pittsburgh, across the Monongahela River, on the corner of East Carson and 22nd Streets.

By Public Transit

Current schedules, fares and routes for public transit are available on the Port Authority of Allegheny County website. You can use their Trip Planner to find the next bus from your location to the library.

From Downtown:

1. Board a #48 Arlington, #50 Spencer, or #51 Carrick bus on Fifth Avenue at Smithfield Street.
2. Get off the bus at the corner of 22nd Street and East Carson Street.
3. Walk across the street to the library.

From Oakland:

1. Board a 54C (North Side-Oakland-South Side) bus on Forbes Avenue at South Dithridge Street.
2. Get off the bus at the first stop on East Carson Street directly in front of the library.

By Automobile

Note: There is no lot, but street parking is available.

From Downtown:

1. Drive east on Forbes Avenue. Turn right onto the Birmingham Bridge [formerly Brady Street Bridge] to East Carson Street.
2. Turn right onto East Carson Street and proceed 1/2 block to 22nd Street.

From Oakland:

1. Drive west on Fifth Avenue Turn left onto the Birmingham Bridge to East Carson Street.
2. Turn right onto East Carson Street and proceed 1/2 block to 22nd Street.
