Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh - Squirrel Hill is approximately 3.7 miles east of Downtown Pittsburgh. The library is located at Forbes Avenue and Murray Avenue on the second floor, above Prudential Preferred Realty. It can be reached from Forbes Avenue or by a ramp from Marlborough Street, which runs parallel to Forbes Avenue behind the library.

By Public Transit

NOTE: All five bus lines (61A, 61B, 61C, 64A, and 74A) stop at the intersection of Forbes Avenue and Murray Avenue where the library is located.

From Downtown:

1. Board a 61A, 61B, or 61C bus at any stop on Forbes Ave. or Fifth Ave.
2. Get off at the intersection of Forbes and Murray Avenues.

From Oakland:

1. Board a 61A, 61B, or 61C bus on Forbes Ave. at South Dithridge St.
2. Get off at the intersection of Forbes and Murray Avenues.

From Other Locations:

• McKeesport: Board a 61C bus at the Transportation Center.
• Duquesne: Board a 61C bus at any transit stop on Second St.
• Homestead: Board a 61C bus at any stop on 8th Ave., or a 64A bus at Ann St. and 8th Ave.
• East Pittsburgh: Board a 61A bus on Linden St. at any stop.
• Rankin: Board a 61A bus at stops on Woodstock Ave. or Noble St. Board a 61B bus on Monongahela Ave. at any stop.
• Wilkinsburg: Board a 61A bus on Coal St. at Franklin Ave.
• East Liberty: *Board a 64A bus at Beatty and Eva Sts., or at the Transit Loop shelter #1.
• Homewood: *Board a 74A bus at any stop on Homewood Ave.

By Automobile

NOTE: Metered parking is available on the street and in the parking lot underneath the library. Free parking is also available on the street.

From the East or West:

1. Take the Parkway East (I-376) to the Squirrel Hill Exit.
2. Turn left onto Forward Ave., and proceed to Murray Ave.
3. Bear left to Murray Ave., and proceed to the inter- section of Forbes Ave. and Murray Ave.

From Oakland:

1. Drive east on Forbes Ave. to the intersection of Forbes Ave. and Murray Ave.

From East Liberty:

1. Drive south on Highland Ave. to Fifth Ave. and turn left onto Fifth Ave.
2. Proceed on Fifth Ave. to Shady Ave. and turn right onto Shady Ave.
3. Proceed on Shady Ave. to Forbes Ave. and turn right onto Forbes Ave.
4. Proceed one block to the intersection of Forbes Ave. and Murray Ave.
