Serving Western Pennsylvania, the BBB has an online membership roster that you can search by company name, keyword, or browse by type of business. Provides contact information, type of entity, type of business, whether they are a member, and record of complaints filed against the business. -
Pittsburgh Technology Council Member Directory
A searchable database (by name or category, zip code and number of employees) of more than 1,400 Council member companies, based on data supplied by each company. Each entry provides contact information, a brief description, year established, number of employees, etc., as well as a link to the home page if one exists.-

The Pennsylvania Department of State Corporation Bureau
The Bureau is the repository for the records of more than 1,500,000 companies authorized to do business in Pennsylvania. All records maintained there are public and may be inspected upon request.-

Morningstar office stock analysis in addition to mutual fund data. For larger companies, detailed analyst reports are available and highly informative. - EDGAR Database of Corporate Information
Corporate filings with the US Securities and Exchange Commission. Includes 1994-current 10-K's and 10-Q's of of approximately 12,000 publicly-traded companies. Since annual reports (except in the case of investment companies) are not required by law to be filed with the SEC, most are not listed. However, some companies have volunteered their annual reports to the SEC. Foreign companies are not required to file with the EDGAR system, but are able to voluntarily file if they so choose. - Hoover's Online
Provides detailed company profiles on over 1,560 public and private companies in the U.S. and the world for a subscription fee. Free access to more than 9,300 companies by industry, sales, or geographical location generates names, addresses, contacts, sales, employee size, ticker symbol, a short description of the line of business and hyperlinks to SEC filings, selected company press releases and other web sites that refer to retrieved companies. -

With 650,000 companies included in the database, ThomasNet provides the ability to search by a Product/Service or Company and to define geography within the United States and Canada. Every company on ThomasNet has a Company Profile which is available as a link from search results. A full entry for a company includes the address, toll-free number (if available), phone, fax, product description and a line to e-mail the manufacturer directly if available.

Entries can include branches with different business classifications which can reflect the diversification of a company. -
