Mission/Statement of Purpose:

The mission of Greater Pittsburgh Arts Council is to expand the reach, influence, and effectiveness of the region’s varied and vibrant cultural community through programs, services, and advocacy. GPAC promotes the growth and quality of a diverse group of arts organizations and artists by providing services and programs that help them [1] build and better serve the audiences for their work, [2] strengthen management and professional development capacity through an array of educational offerings, [3] gain access to management and legal services that they would otherwise be unable to afford, [4] devote more energy and financial resources to their creative work through participation in low-cost, aggregated services like the ProArts Tickets, and [5] receive funding through regranting partnerships with the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts and two local foundations.
