    Founded in 1988 and incorporated as a 501(c)3 organization in 1992, The Horticultural Society of Western Pennsylvania’s purpose is to develop the region’s first comprehensive botanical garden, focussing on displays of regional flora, horticultural and environmental education, and research into botanical issues of regional importance.

  • Garden Club Federation of Pennsylvania

    The GCFP is a not-for-profit volunteer organization of 6,700 Pennsylvania garden club members: women, men and youth who share interests in gardening, civic beautification, floral design, conservation of natural resources, environmental and legislative issues through local clubs. The local clubs are grouped into 11 districts. The GCFP is a member of the National Garden Clubs, Inc.

    The Master Gardener program was established to assist Cooperative Extension in reaching the consumer horticulture audience. The program provides interested individuals with extensive training in many phases of gardening. In return, partcipants dedicate volunteer time to teaching other home gardeners. Training and volunteer service are coordinated at the county level by extension agents, horticulture assistants, or volunteers.
