OPERA SEASON IN PITTSBURGH April 1900

Notice in DISPATCH on February 26, 1900: “Best Opera Season in Pittsburgh’s History,” as announced by George H. Wilson, Pittsburgh manager of Maurice Grau’s Metropolitan Opera Co.

Photos of eleven soloists, including Scotti, Calvé, Schumann-Heink and others of note.

Reviews of April 16-18, 1900 concerts by various reporters. One from April 22nd claimed “This season’s opera better than any other,” and gave credit to George H. Wilson for “courageously fostering the scheme.”
