Online Internet Safety Resources for Parents

Below is a list of online resources where parents will find information and contacts for keeping their child safe while visiting the Internet. "Surfing the Net" can be an exciting family experience to plan vacations and learn about new places and things. However, parents need to know how to show their children how to "surf" safely on this expanding information highway. The sites listed below will provide you with tips on how you can protect your child while on the Internet, provide information on cyber bullying, suggest some guidelines and rules for Internet use, and provide you with agencies to contact to report abuse.

  • Child Predator Unit
    Description of PA Attorney General Tom Corbett's Child Predator Unit that he created in January 2005 to protect the children in Pennsylvania. In January 2005, Corbett created a dedicated Child Predator Unit, using a group of specially trained agents and prosecutors across Pennsylvania to identify and capture online predators before them can harm children.
