Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh's 2008 High School Photo Contest is underway! The theme of this year's contest, which coincides with the Pittsburgh 250 celebration, is "Imagine What You Can Do Here!" Deadline for entries is May 1, 2008. See Contest Rules and Entry Form for specifics. All amateur high school student photographers in grades 9-12 in Allegheny County are invited to participate for the following great prizes:
Best Achievement in Photography: $500.00
Second Prize: $250.00
Third Prize: $100.00
Honorable Mention (2 awarded): $50.00
Showstopper Award: $100.00

A select group of student photo entries may be included in the soon to be published book "Pittsburgh: 1758-2008" which is a joint publication between the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh and the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
