  • Action Housing
    (Allegheny Council To Improve Our Neighborhoods) ACTION-Housing, since 1957, has used its financial and human resources to empower the most vulnerable families and individuals in Pittsburgh and Allegheny County to build more secure and self-sufficient lives through the provision of decent affordable housing and essential supportive services.
  • Allegheny County Department of Human Services: Housing and Homelessness
    Includes an 83-page HUD/HAP Contracted Providers Directory listing housing resources available to the homeless or near homeless population in Allegheny County. Individuals or families in need of housing can call appropriate agencies listed in the directory. Also lists nonprofit organizations that help with housing assistance.
  • City of Pittsburgh Housing Authority
    Attempts to provide decent, safe, and affordable housing to low income and elderly families in the City. HACP's programs are administered through the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
  • Habitat for Humanity
    An international nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing ministry with local affiliates that work to eliminate substandard housing and homelessness by restoring or building adequate, affordable shelter.
  • Healthy Home Resources
    Healthy Home Resources was created to address the rise in illnesses caused or complicated by the presence of indoor environmental hazards and is the only environmental health organization in Allegheny County that equips individuals and families with the knowledge, support and tools needed to reduce exposure to indoor environmental hazards.
  • HEARTH
    (formerly North Hills Affordable Housing) operates Benedictine Place which is a unique program that offers transitional housing, empowerment, and support for homeless and displaced women with children.
  • Lutheran Services Society of Western Pennsylvania
    The Lutheran Service Society of Western Pennsylvania maintains housing for low-income seniors.
  • Nazareth Housing Services
    Nazareth Housing Services assists lower-income seniors and families to achieve and maintain safe and affordable housing.
  • Pittsburgh AIDS Task Force
    Provides HUD Supportive Housing Program for people living with HIV/AIDS.
  • The Pittsburgh Project
    Through work crews which give over 50,000 hours each year, their Home Repair Ministry provides free home repairs for homeowners who are elderly, poor, shut-in, widowed, disabled, or immobile.
  • Rebuilding Together - Pittsburgh
    Formerly Christmas in April, Rebuilding Together - Pittsburgh is a non-partisan, non-sectarian and non-profit organization that engages in an annual one-day blitz to repair and rehabilitate homes of low-income, elderly and disabled homeowners.
  • Urban League of Pittsburgh Housing Services
    The Urban League's housing counseling services programs provide services to help all people secure and maintain safe, appropriate, affordable housing. Residents of Allegheny County are assisted with problems related to housing including household budgeting and debt management, pending eviction, housing selection, tenant/landlord disputes, credit restoration, and foreclosure prevention.
  • Urban Redevelopment Authority of Pittsburgh
    Offers low interest rate loans for low income homeowners and home buyers in Pittsburgh.

  • Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency
    The Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency provides capital for decent, safe and affordable homes and apartments for older adults, persons of modest means and those persons with special housing needs.
  • Housing Alliance of Pennsylvania
    formerly the PA Low Income Housing Coalition
    An advocacy group for increased resources for affordable housing.
