• GLBT Historical Society
  This San Francisco-based organization aims to "collect, preserve, and interpret the history of GLBT people and the communities that support them." The web site features online exhibits and research tools.
• ONE National Gay and Lesbian Archives
  This is "the world's largest research library on Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual,and Transgendered heritage and concerns." The web site features information on the Los Angeles-based library's collections, online exhibitions, and newsletters.
• Committee on Lesbian and Gay History
  Affiliated with the American Historical Society, the Committee on Lesbian and Gay History promotes "the study of homosexuality in the past and present by facilitating communication among scholars in a variety of disciplines working on a variety of cultures." Their web site provides bibliographic information on dissertations about GLBT history, an online newsletter, links to other web sites dealing with GLBT history, and information on programs and awards.
• Yale Research Initiative on the History of Sexualities
  The Initiative fosters "research and theoretical reflection on the history of sexualities, especially as they intersect with other axes of social difference and inequality."
• Rainbow History Project
  This Washington, DC-based organization's web site provides a great deal of information on LGBT history. Links to oral histories, photo collections, and research guides are among the highlights of this web site.
• Lesbian Herstory Archives
  This is the "world's largest collection of materials by and about lesbians and their communities." A virtual tour of the web site lets users "visit" the physical archives, while the web site provides information on the collections, exhibits, and the Archive's newsletters from the 1970's to today.
• Stonewall and Beyond
  This online exhibition from Columbia University was created to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Stonewall riots.
• glbtq: an encyclopedia of gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, & queer culture
  This online encyclopedia provides information on the arts, literature, and social sciences as those subjects relate to LGBTQ history.
• Nazi Persecution of Homosexuals
  The United States Holocaust Museum created this online exhibition of art, photographs, personal histories, and ephemera related to the Nazi persecution of homosexuals.
• People with a History
  This online guide provides information on the history of gays and lesbians from ancient times to the present. A partially-annotated bibliography, study guides, and links to more online sources are also included on this site.
