Step Trek
For many years, the South Side Slopes sat between the aerial serenity of the Passionist Monastery and the hellish fire of the mills below. The elevation between the two is over 350 feet, but their history is several thousand stories. Join us this autumn for an urban hike through this historic neighborhood. The Pittsburgh StepTrek 2003 begins at noon on Sunday, October 5, 2003, at Josephine and 21st streets on the South Side. This year the StepTrek will explore how Pittsburgh lived, prayed and played from the hillside perspective of the South Side Slopes.
