Creative Writing Workshops
|
| Learn to express yourself with writing workshops led by experienced writers. The workshop leaders will help you shape your work and will be available after the workshops to critique and answer questions.All workshop participants will receive a Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh composition notebook.Space at workshops is limited. Registration is recommended. Click on the workshop date and location to register.
Workshop attendance is reserved for high school aged students.

Short Fiction |
March 1, 1-3pm CLP - Brookline
March 2, 1-3pm CLP - Main (Classroom A)
Short Fiction workshops will be led by Rebecca O'Connell, author of books for babies, children and young adults. Her novel Myrtle of Willendorf, about a bright and artistic teen’s membership in a secret coven, was partially based on Rebecca’s own experiences with spirituality, romance, and junk food.

Creative Nonfiction |
March 8, 1-3pm CLP - Brookline
March 9, 1-3pm CLP - Main (Classroom A)
Creative Nonfiction workshops will be led by Ryan Kaune and Caroline Sheedy. Ryan was a creative writing major at the University of Pittsburgh and participated in University of Iowa's prestigious Summer Writing Festival. Caroline was also focused on creative writing at the University of Pittsburgh and is particularly interested in memoir and blogging.

Poetry workshops will be led by Tessa Barber, the 2000 winner of Barbara Nelson Award for best collection of poetry and editor of the Franklin & Marshall College Literary Magazine from 2001 - 2004. |
