Book a Librarian

Another way to connect with the Library is through our one-on-one appointments. With this service, CLP staff is here for you  both in-person and virtually when you can’t make it into one of our locations. Contact us via chat, info@carnegielibrary.org, or call 412-622-3114 to schedule an appointment with a librarian. We are currently offering the following services:

Archives

The CLP archivist can help you access resources, records and other ephemera in the Library’s Archives, including:

Archival appointments can be booked online and are available Tuesday evenings and some weekends.
Please see our Archives Access and Use Policy to prepare for your visit.

Business

A business librarian can help you use library databases and other online resource to do research for a small business, including:

  • Business plans
  • Industry research
  • Market research

Career

Librarians are available to help with online job searches and applications, including:

  • Cover letter review
  • Mock interviews
  • Online job search/application
  • Resume review

Device Help

Librarians can help you access CLP resources (eBooks, databases, etc.) on your personal device, including any of the following:

  • Tablet
  • Smartphone
  • eReaders
  • Computer

Digital Literacy

Librarians can offer help with several digital literacy topics. While we can’t troubleshoot particular issues with your device, we can provide support for the following:

  • Registering an email account
  • Finding information online
  • Finding or navigating a website
  • Writing and editing a document in Word

Nonprofit

Librarians can help nonprofit organizations seek grant funding using the Foundation Directory Online.
