Elizabeth (Beth) Baran serves as the Senior Vice President, General Counsel & Corporate Secretary for DICK’S Sporting Goods, which was founded in 1948 and is proudly headquartered in Pittsburgh.  Beth leads the legal, compliance, internal audit, risk and sustainability functions for DICK’S and provides strategic advice and counsel to the executive leadership team and Board of Directors.  Beth also serves as the Corporate Secretary for The DICK’S Sporting Goods Foundation, the company’s private corporate foundation whose mission is to inspire and enable youth sports participation through its innovative Sports Matter Program.

Prior to joining DICK’S, Beth was in private practice in the Pittsburgh office of a large national law firm as a corporate, securities and M&A attorney where her clients included professional sports teams, international manufacturing companies, private equity firms, and non-profits.

Beth serves on the Board of Directors for Footbridge for Families, an innovative Pittsburgh-based nonprofit that fills a crucial gap to provide families with emergency financial support to prevent a short-term financial crisis from escalating.

Beth and her husband Mark live in Squirrel Hill with their three children and spend time at the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh – Squirrel Hill branch.  Beth in particular loves using Libby to access audiobooks and e-books.
