A sucker for self-help books, I was excited to crack open my latest find: A Course in Miracles (DB 43840). This mystical book came to me highly recommended from both a former boss and my go-to Tarot readers. Oprah even promoted it on The Oprah Winfrey Show in 1992.

Legend has it that the book’s author Helen Schucman heard what she called an “inner voice” which guided her to scribe the contents of the book. This scribing process took over seven years and the first edition was published in 1976.

The book is the size of a Bible with three main sections: a “Textbook,” “Workbook,” and “Manual for Teachers.” It contains 365 daily lessons to bring about spiritual transformation through love and forgiveness. I am only on lesson eight, but already I can feel a positive shift in the way I see the world. May it motivate you as well!
