In response to our community's needs we have set a course to transform library services and help shape the region's future in three key areas: education, workforce and economic development and neighborhood vitality.
In January of 2015, we launched Realize: Our Power, Our Potential, a multi-phased major gifts initiative designed to strengthen the Library and ensure its long-term financial health for current and future generations. With your help, the Library has raised almost $25 million towards our $50 million goal.
Special projects include:
Re-imagining CLP – Downtown
In order to create a welcoming and vibrant destination library for our thriving region, CLP will begin an expansion of CLP – Downtown, 612 Smithfield Street. This busy location serves patrons from throughout the county – the thousands of people whom live, work, study and visit downtown Pittsburgh. The $6 million renovation and expansion project (an increase of 40% from 12,600 to 20,000 square feet) will begin in early 2020. The re-imagined library will enhance services for people stopping in to pick up a book, attend a program or to use a computer. Children and teens will have dedicated spaces filled with resources that will support creative and connected learning as well as active family engagement. The redesigned facility also includes meeting rooms, study areas and spaces to collaborate with community partners who help to strengthen services and connect adult patrons to workforce, literacy and social services resources. Recognition opportunities are available. For more information, call 412.622.6276 or email Pat Quinn Winter at email@example.com.

CLP is pleased to announce the 18th project in its neighborhood library revitalization project. The $4.1 million renovation and expansion project at historic CLP – Mt. Washington, located at 315 Grandview Avenue overlooking Downtown Pittsburgh includes 2,700 square feet of additional space to meet the needs of the community.
