Violins of Hope is a project of concerts based on a private collection of restored violins, violas and cellos played by Jewish musicians before and during the Holocaust. The collection is now in Pittsburgh for cultural exhibitions, performances, and community education with a message of hope, resistance, resilience, and unity.

Violins of Hope, Greater Pittsburgh includes a Sounds Upstairs concert in the South Wing Reading Room at the Main Library. Violinist Roger Zahab is planning a program that features composers he’s had a personal connection with and music that is emblematic of aspects of resilience and hope in their lives. This event takes place on the 2nd floor.
