‘Hear Me Out’ Dialogue Series: Fake News and Media Literacy

May 4 @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Close up of key on computer keyboard reading "Fake News."

In partnership with the Northland Public Library, the Coy Public Library of Shippensburg, Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh, and the Cleve J. Fredricksen Library, the Free Library of Philadelphia presents Fake News and Media Literacy: A ‘Hear Me Out’ Dialogue

The COVID-19 pandemic has further increased our reliance on social media and the Internet for information. This development, combined with underlying political partisanship, has created a breeding ground for disinformation, conspiracy theories, and information overload. In this two-hour session, we will discuss the impacts of fake news and provide tools for accessing and evaluating reliable media.
