Lavender Book Club: An LGBTQIA+ Book Discussion Group

Main (Oakland)

Join us to discuss contemporary and classic LGBTQIA+ fiction and nonfiction. More information can be found at http://lavenderbook.club/.

Discussions are free and open to the public. No registration is necessary. We usually have copies of the current month’s book available for you to check out at the Ask a Librarian desk on the First Floor.

Discussions are held in the Director’s Conference Room on the First Floor of the Main Library on the fourth Thursday of the month at 6:30 p.m. This book group meets every month, except for November and December.

May’s book selection is Becoming Nicole: The Transformation of an American Family by Amy Ellis Nutt – The inspiring true story of a transgender girl, her identical twin brother, and an ordinary American family’s extraordinary journey to understand, nurture, and celebrate the right to be different—from the Pulitzer Prize–winning science reporter for The Washington Post.
