Local History and Genealogy Open House

April 1 @ 12:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Spread of genealogy research including official records and a family tree

Have you heard of the CLP-Main Local History & Genealogy Open House? No, we aren’t selling the third floor of the Library, but we are opening it up from 12pm-5pm on Saturday, April 1st for our community to browse and explore!

Ride the public elevator to the third floor and enjoy access to the materials, space, and staff that work on the third floor. The Library departments that will be at the open house include:

    • Recollection Studio
    • Archives
    • Rare Books & Special Collections
    • Conservation, Preservation & Access (CP&A)
    • Local History & Genealogy
    • External & Government Relations
    • Western Pennsylvania Genealogical Society (WPGS)

We are thrilled to welcome our community to explore the third floor and get to know our collections and staff better. Visitors are permitted to do research upstairs and use the materials, including microfilm and the microfilm readers. Staff from each department will be there to answer any questions about services and materials. Curious visitors can expect a better understanding of the collection, how to access it, and the services offered by our departments.
