Sounds Upstairs: How Things Are Made

How Things Are Made is the electro-acoustic improvisation-based trio of Matt Aelmore, David Bernabo, and Brian Riordan. Their music is often generative, utilizing real-time manipulations of electronic and acoustic instruments and objects.The group has released over 38 records, collaborated with 12 guest musicians in an evening where 13 records were recorded, and commissioned 52 compositions from composers.

The trio will be perform a live improvised set using instruments from the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh Music Department.
