Trombasso—a trio featuring alto trombone, tenor trombone and cimbasso—is dedicated to performing music from nearly every genre: transcriptions of Renaissance and Baroque literature, contemporary chamber music, rock standards, and commissions from various composers of jazz, avant-garde, and swing. The unusual instrumentation creates a sound palette distinctly different from conventional brass ensembles. This event is being held in the South Wing Reading Room.
