Sunday Afternoon Music Series Presents The Kronos Duo

Main (Oakland)

The Kronos Duo is Nolan Petote on clarinet and Matthew Korbanic on guitar.  Their unique combination of clarinet and guitar join together to play music of all genres, including the works of Astor Piazzolla, Robert Maggio and Eric Satie.

Nolan holds Master’s and Advanced Music Studies Degrees in music performance from Carnegie Mellon University.  He is an active chamber musician with the Bel Suono Ensemble, freelances with many Pittsburgh ensembles, maintains a private teaching studio, and is on the staff on the Pittsburgh Youth Concert Orchestra.

Matthew Korbanic earned a master’s degree in classical guitar performance from Carnegie Mellon University and has been hailed for his virtuoso technique.  As a player on the newly innovated 8 string Brahms guitar, he has toured the east coast and mid-west.  In addition to a busy teaching, publishing, and recording schedule, some noted performances have been the Three Rivers Arts Festival, the Pittsburgh Opera, Pittsburgh Arts Council, and live on WQED-FM.

Please join us for an enlightening and innovative hour of music!
