Here to Help: Assistance and Resources for Pittsburgh Restaurant Workers

On Saturday, December 12, new temporary COVID-19 mitigation efforts took effect across Pennsylvania. Among other things, these measures prohibit “all in-person indoor dining at businesses in the retail food services industry, including, but not limited to, bars, restaurants, breweries, wineries, distilleries, social clubs, and private catered events.” (source: pa.gov)

In response, several organizations in Pittsburgh are currently collecting monetary and physical donations to help aid restaurant workers in need.

Pittsburgh Mutual Aid offers help connecting neighbors in need with neighbors offering resources. Submit a request for help here.

The Pittsburgh Virtual Tip Jar allows people to donate money directly to local restaurant and other service workers such as stylists or aestheticians. Get on the list for the Tip Jar by clicking here.

Pittsburgh Restaurant Workers Aid provides resources and community support to restaurant and hospitality workers who have lost financial, housing, food, and healthcare security. Email info@pghrwa.org with questions or use this helpful map to find other free resources.
