Who’s Who in Pittsburgh Music Circles by Ralph Lewando

Ralph Lewando, a music critic for the “Pittsburgh Press,” from 1930 to 1957, wrote a weekly column “Who’s Who in Pittsburgh Music Circles” from 1941 to 1954. Carnegie Library music librarians of that time clipped these columns and placed them into scrapbooks. Each article contains a photograph of the musician featured with a short piece on his or her contribution to the musical life of the city. The 5 scrapbooks are in order by date.

Some of these columns are reproduced in the Pittsburgh music magazine the “Musical Forecast.”
