Fall has arrived in Pittsburgh, but my thoughts have already fast-forwarded to spring — specifically, May 7, 2017.
That’s the date of the 2017 Dick’s Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Marathon, of which Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh is a participating charity.
Sure, the Pittsburgh Marathon is still six months away (and there’s still The Season of Pumpkin Spice Everything, the upcoming holidays, and the doldrums of a ‘Burgh winter to get through), but we’re already forming our team of participants who have committed to run and raise money for the Library.
As a new runner (that’s a subject for another post), I’m hoping to be among them.
In the meantime, you can join us as part of the Library’s team. When you sign up on our team, you commit to one of the following fundraising amounts:
Full Marathon – $500
Half Marathon – $350
Relay Team – $250 per person
5K – $200
Kid’s Marathon – $100
Pet Walk – $100
If the fundraising is more daunting than the running, we can help. All participants will receive a toolkit to help reach those fundraising goals.
