LGBTQIA+

Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh is a welcoming and inclusive space offering a variety of resources, collections and programs for the LGBTQIA+ community and their supporters.

Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh supports tolerance, respect, curiosity and the acquisition of knowledge.

Our LGBTQIA+ collections, programs and partnerships nurture inclusion and empowerment. Teens, who may not be comfortable at a school dance, can let loose at our annual Alternative Homecoming, and adults will recognize themselves in the books and movies discussed at our monthly Rainbow Reading Group. At Drag Queen Story Hour, children and families celebrate differences and acceptance, and our partnerships with local organizations providing LGBTQIA+ services help amplify a vibrant and vital network of support.

The Library is for all.
