Bring Me Back by B. A. Paris

I discovered the novelist B. A. Paris with her second book The Breakdown, and she hooked me with that story from the very beginning.  I think that I read that book in two days.  When I saw that she had a new book out, I already had a huge TBR pile, so I decided to listen to the audio book of Bring Me Back.  Kevin Hely and Cathleen McCarron narrate the story from the perspective of Finn McQuaid and Layla Gray, respectively.  Finn and Layla are young lovers that met in London.  On the way home from a ski trip in France, Finn and Layla stop at a service station.  While Finn stops to use the rest room, Layla disappears.  The first part of the novel is narrated by Finn with “Before” and “Now” alternating chapters.  In the second half, Finn and Layla tell the rest of the story by turns.  If you enjoy psychological thrillers that are told from different perspectives, then Bring Me Back is the book for you.

Interesting tidbit:  All three titles of the Thrillers by B. A. Paris feature the letter “B”.

Bring Me Back

B. A. Paris is the best selling author of two previous psychological thrillers, Behind Closed Doors and The Breakdown.  With her latest thriller, Bring Me Back, the past and the present clash for Finn McQuaid, as he deals with the disappearance and possible death of his girlfriend Layla.  Finn is cleared of any wrong-doing with her case, and he moves on years later when he makes a connection with Layla’s older sister Ellen.  As Finn and Ellen make wedding plans, each of them discovers some signs that Layla may still be alive.
