Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh offers some wonderful resources and materials to support you in learning English as a second language. Among them is free access to Mango Languages with your library card. You can learn French, Chinese, Russian, Spanish and a host of other languages, or improve your ESL skills with Mango’s interactive web-based lessons.

Literacy Pittsburgh, a local organization, offers free classes and is another good resource.

And of course there are books to check out. See below for a list of titles that will help you on your ESL journey.

You can sign up for a free library card here. If you are new to our eResources, check out these tutorial videos on how to get started.

Looking for a good book, album, movie or TV show? We’re happy to recommend them to you! Use this Personalized Recommendations form to send us some information about what you like and we’ll curate a list just for you.
