Seven strangers, separated by the demands of capitalism are brought out into the London streets at 4:18 in the morning.

This is the simple version of  Let Them Eat Chaos by Kate Tempest. This poem does more than fill time as a trophy for your reading collection. This is not something you tell your friends you read and move on to dessert.

This poem demands you listen. Not only to the poem it’s self but to listen to the destruction around you. The hurting that we have caused, the fear, anxiety, loneliness, depression that we all are suffering from in our quest for more. It shows us the reality that we all want to hide from.

Thankfully there is hope. Hope in the form of a storm. A storm that has been brewing for centuries, with the intent of washing us clean from the burdens of our winner take all capitalist society.

This poem shows us that storm. Forcing us to stand in the rain as it pours its heart out, hoping we see the life line to a better tomorrow.
