Crafting your Legacy

When you create a Named Endowed Fund at Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh, you help preserve, sustain and advance the Library’s great legacy for today’s patrons and for future generations.

The Library’s Endowment is invested for long-term growth and a portion of the Endowment earnings is distributed annually to support operations, services and programs according to the restrictions of each Named Endowed Fund. The minimum fund levels listed below guarantee that sufficient income will be available to fulfill the intentions of your Named Endowed Fund.

Your gift to create a Named Endowed Fund will provide permanent recognition for you, your family or other individual whom you would like to honor.

Endowed President and Director’s Position – $2,500,000+
Provides prominent recognition of your name with the President and Director position while supporting the Library’s top leader’s salary, benefits and travel costs.

Endowed Leadership Initiative Fund – $1,000,000+
Ensures continued investment in transformational leadership initiatives that allow the Library to support a vibrant community and a thriving region.

Endowed Collection – $500,000+
Associates your name with a broad-based Library collection and ensures that current and future generations will have access to resources that inform, inspire and delight.

Endowed Program – $250,000+
Supports a program or service in a Library priority area of interest to you such as education, arts & culture or outreach. The Library works with you to design a fund that meets your interests and a library service.

Endowed Innovation Fund – $100,000+
Provides support for Library innovation in program design, technological solutions and/or methods of service delivery.

Endowed Library Services Fund- $50,000+                                                                 
Supports a broad-based library service area. The donor can choose a single criterion such as Children’s services, general collections or a geographic service area.

Endowed Library Legacy Fund – $25,000+     
Provides support for general Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh operations in perpetuity.

Support the General Endowment – Any Amount
Gifts at all levels are welcome! There is no minimum amount required to support the Library’s General Endowment. All gifts will help maintain the services and resources you love for generations to come.
