Shirley Page recalls the excitement of coming to CLP – East Liberty as a child in the 1940s. She fondly remembers the storytimes in the children’s area and getting a glimpse of the newspapers and encyclopedias in the adult section.
“It was a beacon for the family … like a second home.”
To give back to the community she loves, Shirley established an endowment for children’s services at CLP – East Liberty. “We need to make an effort to raise a child’s level of aspiration,” she said.
Thanks to gifts from community members like Shirley, the Library is able to provide children who are at the greatest risk for reading challenges the essential skills they need to succeed in school and in life.
Join Shirley in leaving a lasting tribute that will strengthen and protect the Library today, tomorrow and beyond. Please contact Pat Quinn Winter at 412.622.6276 or email@example.com for more information.
