CLP-Downtown’s last day of full service is scheduled for Saturday, March 7, 2020.
Renovations are expected to take approximately one year, after which the branch will reopen with 68% more square footage (and a lot more natural light!), including large Children’s and Teen sections, each with their own programming spaces. Additional improvements include more meeting space – with large room, medium room with PC class capabilities – and four small meeting rooms for studying, co-working and more.
While construction is underway, we will open an express service “Pop Up” location downtown starting March 9, 2020.

- Address: 623 Smithfield Street (Between Port Authority and Steel City Clothing, just across the street from our current location)
- Services:
- Three public service computers for printing (15 minutes of use per customer)
- Holds pick up
- Materials drop off
- Small best seller collection
