
BLAST Early Learning
Bringing Libraries and Schools Together
Early Learning BLAST provides literacy-based storytime programs to children, educators and caregivers, visiting sites such as Head Start centers and preschool/childcare centers throughout Pittsburgh.
Early Learning BLAST creates and implements unique monthly storytime programs focused on the six early literacy skills below, all of which are important in the development of early literacy and a precursor for children learning how to read:
- Vocabulary
- Phonological Awareness
- Print Motivation
- Print Awareness
- Letter Knowledge
- Narrative Skills
