Who’s Who in Pittsburgh Music Circles – by Ralph Lewando

Ralph Lewando, a music critic for the “Pittsburgh Press,” from 1930 to 1957, wrote a weekly column “Who’s Who in Pittsburgh Music Circles” from 1941 to 1954. Mr. Lewando donated five scrapbooks containing these columns to Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh. Each article contains a photograph of the musician featured with a short piece on his or her contribution to the musical life of the city. The scrapbooks are in order by date.

Some of these columns are reproduced in the Pittsburgh music magazine the “Musical Forecast.”
