Ashley Bell by “Dean Koontz” is an intriguing mix of fantasy and the paranormal. Bibi Blair, a young surfer and novelist, is diagnosed with a rare form of cancer after being hospitalized from a suspected stroke. Bibi is miraculously cured after being visited by a mysterious man and his golden retriever. Soon after, an enigmatic woman convinces Bibi that she was spared in order to save another person’s life. As it turns out, the one that Bibi is destined to save is Ashley Bell. The dangerous and daunting task of searching for Ashley Bell is exhilarating. Bibi’s nose-dive into a sinister world is entrancing and every turn becomes more ominous than the last. It was suspenseful and eerie, but really just an extraordinarily good book.
