Going Bovine

Cameron is content to just drift through life, putting the minimum amount of effort into high school, his lame fast food job at Buddha Burger, and keeping his popular, successful family off his back. Then weird things start to happen around him… like, “visions of fire giants in the middle of English class” weird. At first Cameron doesn’t think much about these incidents; he just continues going about his lackluster business. But eventually it becomes clear that something’s really wrong, and Cameron ends up in the hospital. The doctors tell him that he has incurable mad cow disease and that he’s going to die. But Dulcie, a mysterious angel that’s been hanging around lately, explains that Cameron’s disease is merely a symptom of a larger breakdown of reality. She convinces him that he must go on a quest to find the mysterious Dr. X, who’s the only one who can put the universe back together. Cameron agrees, and breaks out of the hospital with his hypochondriac roommate Gonzo. Along the way they acquire the company of the Norse god Baldur, who happens to be trapped in an inanimate garden gnome. The trio set off on a series of increasingly surreal adventures, which force Cameron to reexamine the cost of his indifferent, slacker lifestyle.

Going Bovine

Sixteen year old slacker Cameron is diagnosed with terminal BSE (mad cow disease), but a visitation from punk-rock angel Dulcie convinces him to go on a quest that will not only cure him, but save the entire known universe.  Along with his hospital roommate and a garden gnome inhabited by the spirit of a Norse god, Cameron sets off on a Don Quixote-themed road trip that quickly becomes a race against what little time he has left.
