With the holidays quickly approaching it’s easy to get overwhelmed. This year in particular has been a challenge.

Let’s face it, 2020 has been awful! Between trying to make sure we have enough funds for daily living expenses and avoiding being with most other people, deciding what gifts to purchase is likely not a high priority.

Still, we all need some cheering up and some kindness in our lives, now more than ever. Giving a handmade card or gift is the perfect way to show someone you care without breaking your budget. Plus being creative is a wonderful way relieve some stress.

Here is a selection of the many books Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh has with suggestions of things you can make, from delicious edible gifts to creative knits to paper crafts and more. Hopefully you will brighten someone’s day and relieve some stress along the way. Here’s wishing you a peaceful healthy holiday season.
