I’ll Take You There

We all have our own memories and we tend to reflect on those memories as we age.  How would you like to relive your life on the big screen of a movie theater?  This actually happens to Felix Funicello, the main character in Wally Lamb’s I’ll Take You There.  Felix is a film scholar that hosts a movie club on Monday nights in an historical theater.  One night while setting up the projector, he is visited by two ghosts.  One of the ghosts is Lois Weber.  Lois was a trail blazing director in the early days of film that has largely been forgotten.  Felix’s life story unfolds on the screen under the director’s  guidance.  A third ghost will shed light on some of the Funicello family secrets.  This touching family story is full of laughs and tears.
