The Dog Master

The Dog Master, a moving novel that takes place thirty thousand years ago, tells the tale of what the domestication of the wolf (the ancestor of today’s dog) might’ve been like.  It’s a wonderfully written and really convincing plot; a few parts even made me tear up.  At the end, this heartwarming story left me with an even much deeper appreciation for my own dog.  Curl up with your pup and check it out!

The Dog Master

This book is billed as “a novel of the first dog.” It takes place 30,000 years ago and imagines the domestication of the first wolf by early modern humans in a time and place where food is scarce and weather conditions are icy. This is a tale of survival in a harsh landscape and how one man’s friendship with a wolf increases his chances of survival.
