Yummy, Funny Books

In Nanette’s Baguette, we get Mo Willem’s typically clever text coupled with his distinctive illustrations. (For this book, he hand-crafted a table-sized paper French style village and digitally integrated it with other illustrations.) It is Nanette’s first solo trip to the boulangerie. She is so excited. And hungry. Wow, does that freshly baked bread smell good! Uh oh…* KRACK! * What will her mom say?

Clever girl, not so clever lion. Little Red and the Very Hungry Lion tells the tale of Little Red and her mission to help her spotted, sick auntie. While the Lion’s made plans to swallow her up, she has other ideas. And, oh boy, this lion gets a lesson in hygiene and a new look instead! In the end, after some scolding, the Lion, Little Red, and Auntie Rosie dine on doughnuts. Much better!

Nanette's Baguette

It’s Nanette’s first trip to get the baguette! Is she set? You bet!

Little Red and the Very Hungry Lion

In this version of Little Red Riding Hood, set on the African plains, Little Red realizes what the Very Hungry Lion is up to, and teaches him a lesson before generously sharing her donuts with him.
